Gov. Mickelson Won’t Back Bush at This Point

PIERRE, S.D. — Republican Gov. George S. Mickelson said Vice President George Bush asked Monday for his support in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, but the governor said he is not ready to support any candidate.
“My response was that I have not made a commitment and do not intend to right now,” Mickelson said in a telephone interview after meeting with Bush in Washington. “I’m going to wait and see what develops.”
