St. Mary’s Beats San Francisco, 62-57

MORAGA, Calif. — Senior guard Paul Robertson scored 24 points to power St. Mary’s to a 62-57 victory over University of San Francisco in a first-round game of the WCAC postseason tournament Saturday night.
Robertson’s output included 6 three-point field goals as the Gaels won for the seventh time in 10 games and improved to 17-12.
St. Mary’s, which swept three games from USF this season, advanced to the tournament semifinals next Friday at USF. The Dons concluded their season at 16-13.
USF forward Anthony Mann, who scored all 14 of his points in the second half, hit a pair of free throws to cut the Gaels’ lead to 58-55 with 30 seconds left, but Robertson answered with four straight free throws to seal the victory.
