J. Tylee Wilson, chairman of RJR Nabisco, will step down from his position in April but stay with the tobacco and food products company until the first of next year, RJR announced.

The announcement was included in the company’s annual report, which was released last week. Wilson will remain with the RJR-Nabisco, based in Winston-Salem, N.C., until he takes early retirement in January, 1988. Wilson was succeeded as CEO by F. Ross Johnson on Jan. 1. There was no indication of who may succeed Wilson as chairman.
