Howard Baker, Nancy Reagan
It is most commendable and admirable for Nancy Reagan to want to protect the health and welfare of her husband, the President of the United States. President Reagan couldn’t have selected a more loyal and devoted leading lady. But No. 1 adviser?
She should stick to “protecting” him in every way possible but not tell him what to do and when to do it. He has advisers for that. Concerned as she is now about her husband’s place in history, I’m sure she does not want him remembered as “the henpecked President.”
