Rangers at Yosemite National Park kept cleanup crews from trying to remove tons of landslide debris because of continuing danger after a series of slides sent rocks, dirt and fallen trees onto the valley floor about a quarter mile west of Yosemite Lodge, closing a road and destroying a park service patrol car. No injuries were reported and park rangers ordered all visitors out of the area.
