A 32-year-old Santa Ana man, who was shot in the chest, staggered from his garage to his living room where he collapsed and died in front of his family, police said.
Neighbors told police that Jorge M. Beltran-Ibarra had just returned from a market near his home on South Olive Street at about 7:20 p.m. Thursday when he paused outside his garage to talk with an unidentified man.
Both men then entered the garage, and then neighbors heard three gunshots before seeing an unidentified man run down the driveway and speed away in a car occupied by another man, Santa Ana Police Lt. Robert Chavez said.
As the two men drove away, Beltran-Ibarra staggered into his home where he collapsed and died in his living room with his family watching, Chavez said.
Police said they have no motive for the shooting.
