Metronomic Winner of Santa Anita Feature

Metronomic, ridden by Laffit Pincay, took the lead in the final furlong and won the $36,000 feature race by 1 lengths Friday at Santa Anita.

Paisano Pete, ridden by Fernando Toro, finished second, a nose in front of High Hook and Gary Stevens.

Metronomic was clocked in 1:16 for 6 1/2 furlongs, earning $19,800 for owner Fred W. Hooper.

Sent off a co-favorite at 5-2, Metronomic paid $7.40, $3.40 and $2.80; Paisano Pete returned $3.40 and $3.20, and High Hook paid $5 to show.
