About 500 people marched through downtown Austin, Minn., to show support for Hormel meatpackers who have not been recalled to work after their 13-month strike. The demonstration included a march to the National Guard Armory for a rally, which featured speakers from the American Indian Movement and the farm activist group Groundswell. About 1,400 union members went on strike against Hormel in August, 1985.
