A radical group that opposes the expansion of Tokyo’s Narita airport claimed responsibility for bombing the offices of five companies involved in the airport construction, Japan’s Kyodo News Service reported. One person was slightly hurt in the blasts, which also damaged dormitories where construction workers were sleeping, police said. At a rally in Tokyo, Chukakuha, a group with a record of violence, said the explosions were meant to protest the second phase of construction at the airport and the arrest of seven Chukakuha members last October, Kyodo said.
