A pedestrian from Garden Grove was killed early Sunday after he stumbled in a Santa Ana intersection and was hit by a vehicle, authorities said.
A coroner’s deputy identified the man as Domitilo I. Flores, 37.
Santa Ana Police Lt. Mike Mitchell said the accident occurred about 2:20 a.m. at 17th Street and Harbor Boulevard. The pedestrian was walking west in the crosswalk when he stumbled into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by a Costa Mesa man, Mitchell said. The pedestrian was killed on impact, he said.
Witnesses told officers that the pedestrian had crossed the street against a red light, according to police.
No charges had been filed in connection with the incident, but an investigation was continuing.
