Toshiba America Inc. has opened a $35-million, 26.2-acre mixed-use complex in the Irvine Spectrum business park in Irvine.
The project, comprised of a 100,000-square-foot office building and 250,000-square-foot research-and-development structure, is the new headquarters of Toshiba’s industrial electronics business sector. The two buildings can be expanded to meet future growth, a Toshiba spokesman said.
The facility has 475 workers, but could eventually employ as many as 700, the spokesman added.
