A housekeeper suffered minor injuries in a fire that did an estimated $800,000 damage to the wooden shake roof, attic and second floor of an Encino house owned by rock star Tom Petty. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Jim Williamson said that the housekeeper, who was not identified, was treated at the scene for minor burns and that the cause of the blaze is under investigation. Members of a free-lance television crew said Petty was home when the fire broke out and ordered them off the property before firefighters arrived. Williamson said firefighters were fearful that the many trees and shrubs surrounding the house might carry the flames to neighboring homes, but no other damage was reported, and the blaze was controlled in about an hour.
