‘Tragedy in Persian Gulf’

It seems to me that our ships are sitting ducks to any country that has missiles and can use them. One missile costing $200,000 can blow up a ship that cost $200 million.
Does that make sense?
They just approved two new carriers at a cost of $6.9 billion dollars. How many $200,000 missiles will it take to blow them up?
