‘Tragedy in Persian Gulf’
A French-built plane with an Iraqi pilot (perhaps trained in the United States) fires a French-built missile bought by Iraq with “oil dollars” paid by Western Europe and Japan and hits a seemingly defenseless U.S. warship and who does Ronald Reagan blame--Iran of course!
Reagan’s bizarre interpretation of culpability proves that history repeats itself. I recall when 241 U.S. Marines died tragically in Beirut (on some still undefined political mission) and Reagan tried for a day to blame Jimmy Carter and the Democrats!
Who takes the rap for the next Mideast fiasco? Reagan’s ex-wife? Daniel Ortega? Redwood trees? When it comes to the military, Reagan has set mankind’s record for not only spending the buck, but passing it.
