Fire did an estimated $550,000 damage to the Mt. Diablo Unified School District Administration Building in Concord. Contra Costa County Consolidated Fire District dispatcher Tom Riley said that the blaze was confined to two rooms in a wing of the one-story building and that 40 firefighters had it under control in about 30 minutes. He said he did not know whether any records were destroyed and added that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
