College World Series : Stanford Stops Ventura but Loses

OMAHA — Pat Hope scattered seven hits and struck out 11, and Oklahoma State scored six runs in the sixth inning to beat Stanford, 6-2, Thursday night to become the only unbeaten team in the College World Series.
Oklahoma State’s Robin Ventura went 0 for 4 and had his NCAA-record hitting streak halted at 58 games. Ventura broke the 47-game hitting streak record set by Wichita State’s Paul Stephenson in 1981.
Oklahoma State (59-11) plays top-ranked Texas (60-10) tonight, while Stanford (50-17) faces LSU (49-18).
