College World Series : Texas Wins in 10th and Stays Alive, 6-4

OMAHA — Scott Coolbaugh and Mike Patrick hit run-scoring doubles in the 10th inning, and Curt Krippner pitched three innings of shutout relief Wednesday night as top-ranked Texas avoided elimination in the College World Series with a 6-4 victory over Florida State.
The Longhorns (60-10) overcame a 13-strikeout performance by Florida State’s Richie Lewis (15-4) in ousting the fifth-ranked Seminoles (55-18).
Krippner (14-1) relieved starter Mark Petkovsek with none out in the eighth and checked the Seminoles on one hit and one walk.
In another game, Jack Voigt hit a two-run homer, and Gregg Patterson pitched a four-hitter as LSU eliminated Arkansas, 5-2.
