A 21-year-old Santa Ana man died early Sunday after his car overturned and he was thrown out following a three-car collision on the Orange Freeway.
The victim, identified as David Medina, was pronounced dead at UCI Medical Center at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, the coroner’s office said.
California Highway Patrol Officer R. E. Baeza said the accident occurred at 11:50 p.m. Saturday on the southbound Orange Freeway south of the Orangewood Avenue exit in Orange.
Baeza said Medina was driving south in a Porsche and made an unsafe lane change. His car collided with another southbound car driven by Elizabeth E. Lane of Huntington Beach, who wasn’t injured, Baeza said.
Medina’s car then spun and hit a third southbound car driven by Roger Lim of Rowland Heights. All three cars ran off the roadway onto the right shoulder, and Medina’s car overturned and ejected him, Baeza said.
Lim suffered minor injuries.
