You can’t always get what you want . . . but Belleville, Ill., disc jockey Angela Gabriel tried for some time--about 2 1/2 hours. Vexed at being forced to play Rolling Stones songs because of the radio station’s playlist format, Gabriel barricaded herself in the studio at WMRY-FM in Belleville, a suburb of St. Louis, and played Stones tunes nonstop for 2 1/2 hours. Gabriel had wanted to spin a number or two from the Grateful Dead or Todd Rundgren, but her requests were denied. Eventually, station employees used a power drill to remove the lock from the studio door, general manager Brian Krueger said. “You could hear drilling,” said Paula Brown of St. Louis, who was listening to the show. “They were drilling out the lock.”
