Buckner Signs With Angels

Veteran first baseman Bill Buckner, released by the Boston Red Sox last week, has signed a contract with the Angels, the team announced today.
Buckner, 37 and playing in his 17th major league season, will be in uniform for the Angels tonight in their game at Oakland against the Athletics, a club spokesman said. He once played for the Dodgers.
