Zoo Finds Lost Rare Gator Just Went Out for a Swim

NEW ORLEANS — A Chinese alligator that disappeared from the Audubon Zoo has been found in a nearby lagoon, but officials said they still do not know how it escaped. Zoo spokesman David Robinett said the alligator, among the world’s most endangered species, was recovered Thursday from a lagoon across a city street from the zoo.
