A 22-year-old student was raped Monday night in a study room at UCLA’s University Research Library and her assailant is still at large, campus police said.
The rapist grabbed the woman from behind as she sat at a desk on the third floor, then covered her mouth with his hand and dragged her into a private room, according to campus detective Michael Shain. The assailant was not armed.
After the 10 p.m. incident, the victim was treated at the UCLA Medical Center and released. Shain said the attack was the third rape or sexual assault on campus in the last year.
