Hart 73, Notre Dame 71--The Indians bounced back from a 39-point tournament loss Thursday to Simi Valley to beat the Knights, who made the game close in the final minutes.
Hart held a nine-point lead with 1:13 remaining before Notre Dame made a run. Ken Hicks hit a three-point jump shot with eight seconds left to bring Notre Dame to within 72-71. Dave Fronseca intentionally fouled Hart’s Phil Briones, who made one of two free-throw attempts with four seconds left to secure the win.
Hart plays Dos Pueblos today in the tournament’s third-place game.
Hart’s Steve Valenzuela scored 22 points, including four three-point shots. Teammate Brett Wilson added 14.
