More About Sue

In his canonization of Sue Mengers, Rosenfield informs us that when Mengers arrived in the States she “remembers most a sense of exclusion, of being left out--and wanting to belong.”
I find this both curious and amazing inasmuch as if she truly were 17 years old in 1955, she’d have been born in 1938, the year the family left Germany, and there thus seems little chance that she could have had such feelings then, nor sensed them in her parents.
But then, maybe the likes of Sue Mengers could. Hollywood needs more Sue Mengers.
