‘Why Contra Aid Must End’

Thank you for your editorial. Congress approved over $3 million in September and another $3 million-plus in November. And now President Reagan plans to ask for an additional $30 million and will request $370 million more in January.
Reagan’s agenda is obviously what it has always been--to overthrow the duly-elected government of Nicaragua. It is reprehensible that for the past seven years we have financed and advised these terrorists, who specialize in murdering teachers, doctors, nurses, women and children, and who destroy crops and homes in a poverty-stricken country.
We must put away our arrogance and give peace a chance in Central America.
