Ministries Decried

Is there anything more chilling than the sight of vultures circling? Yes . . . if those vultures hunger not just for the body but for the soul.
“Change” ministries claim they serve the well-being of gay people. Yet they hide their deeds, and their results are scanty as any faith healer’s. It’s harder to identify them with spiritual good than with the mindless and seemingly endless vendetta waged mercilessly on gays by conservative Christians for centuries. This religion is said to be based on the greatest love history has ever known. Yet it is difficult to imagine deeds more twisted by fanaticism and leached of love.
The so-called relief offered by such ministries is spiritual heroin. Its victims are made miserable addicts robbed of all feeling, whether pain or love. Gay, straight, Christian or not, we should all respond as we would to any deadly drug: just say no.
