Pasadena : Rezoning of Parcel Delayed
The Board of Directors has delayed rezoning city-owned property in Eaton Canyon to allow City Manager Donald McIntyre to determine whether the U. S. Forest Service is interested in building a headquarters on the site.
The directors turned down a recommendation from the Planning Commission that the 14.8-acre site be zoned for one-acre, single-family residential units or an equestrian center.
McIntyre has recommended pursuing a deal with the Forest Service because it would generate more city revenue than the other proposals.
The site, listed as open space, is being rezoned so the city can sell it as part of a plan to eliminate surplus land.
