Statue Bid

Part of the Reagan Administration prescription for budget balancing calls for the sale of government property. And one of those transactions (Part I, Dec. 15) is the Reagan family purchase of a two-foot carved ivory statue from the White House.
But for $800?--$800 for a two-foot carved ivory? I’ll double that offer. If this is a harbinger of those government sales, I’d like to be part of the bidding.
