Beverly Enterprises will lay off between 250 and 300 of its 2,000-member managerial staff under a previously disclosed plan, the company said. In all, the Pasadena-based firm has about 106,000 employees. The company has said rising labor costs and declining occupancy at its nursing homes will cause a loss for the 1987 fourth quarter and year as well as for the first half of 1988. Beverly said the expected loss for the fourth quarter will be larger than the $1.64 million lost in the 1986 period.
