Eastern Airlines flight attendants promised to launch a safety campaign following the punishment of four employees who wanted a plane de-iced in Denver. The flight attendants say they will call for improved safety rules and lobby for a bill to ensure legal protection for airline employees who criticize safety hazards. The campaign follows a Dec. 14 incident in Denver in which four flight attendants walked off a plane because they were concerned about possible build-up of snow and ice on its wings. They returned after the plane was de-iced. The flight attendants, all veterans of Eastern, were suspended 30 days without pay.
