Freshmen forward Sean Higgins and guard Demetrius Calip have been declared academically ineligible for the rest of the season, the Michigan basketball team announced.
Higgins, the Wolverines’ fourth-leading scorer, has averaged 9.8 points in 12 games, and Calip has averaged 1.2 points in six games this season.
Higgins played for Fairfax High School in Los Angeles, and Calip played at Flint, Mich., Northern.
