Evans Named Player of Year in Volleyball

Jenny Evans of Newport Harbor High School has been selected the 1987 player of the year by Volleyball Monthly.
Evans, a senior, helped the Sailors win the Southern Section 5-A championship last season.
Dawn Charroin (Marina), Bev Oden (Irvine) and Elaine Youngs (El Toro) were named to the first team.
Sienna Curci (Newport Harbor), Cari Delson (Irvine), Laurie Jones (Huntington Beach) and Laurie Wooten (Corona del Mar) were named to the second team.
