U.S. business is likely to face a rising wave of government regulation in 1988, the Conference Board reported. Intensified congressional action, propelled by consumer complaints, may focus on truck safety, airline delays and potential bank failures, the research organization said. It also said the recent stock market turmoil could trigger a sharp re-examination of computerized program trading and other financial market practices. “A new wave of regulation will develop regardless of which party captures the White House,” said E.
