Local News in Brief : South County : 2 High Schools Win Top Yearbook Awards

Two Capistrano Unified School District high schools, competing nationwide with 550 other schools, have been awarded top honors for their yearbooks in the American Scholastic Press Assn.’s annual review and contest.
First place with special merit went to Dana Hills High School’s The Mast and to Capistrano Valley High School’s El Gato.
First place awards, with acknowledgment of special merit, went to publications that scored more than 900 points in the review process, district officials said. Format, content and presentation were the criteria.
Special commendations were given to yearbook advisers Karen Winn of Capistrano Valley High and Kris Evans of Dana Hills High.
