Survey to Check Cost of Asbestos Removal for State

Diagnostic Engineering Inc. of Sierra Madre has been hired by the California Department of Health Services, which coordinates the work of the Asbestos Abatement Task Force, to conduct a survey to identify costs of abating and controlling asbestos in public buildings.
The program was launched in accordance with a state law as part of the California Health and Safety Code.
Due to be completed by June, the survey will focus on 200 to 250 public buildings that belong to the state, counties, cities and other local agencies and the University of California.
The Asbestos Task Force includes representatives of the Sierra Madre company, state Department of Industrial Relations, Department of General Services and Building Standards Commission.
