A San Marcos motorist was killed Thursday morning when his car collided with a trailer on East Vista Way in Bonsall.
Bradley K. Wells died at the scene, near Hutchinson Street, Deputy Coroner William Leard said. Wells suffered multiple head and internal injuries.
A CHP spokeswoman said Wells was traveling north on Vista Way when his car struck a trailer being towed by a dump truck. The truck was backing out of a private road.
The spokeswoman said a preliminary investigation by the CHP indicated that Wells was driving faster than the posted speed limit of 55 m.p.h.
