Finally, who gives businessman Louis Foster, who made the donation, and Dodo Meyer, who chairs the Cultural Foundation, the right to defy the will of the people?
Mr. and Mrs. John Q. Citizen have stated in no uncertain terms in every survey ever conducted that they want the basin undeveloped.
The basin’s Canada geese, kites, egrets and red-tailed hawks put on enough of a daily performance without the need for $45-million worth of parking lots, souvenir stands and dance halls.
