In the girls’ 4-A final, Mission Viejo defeated West Torrance, 1-0, at Gahr.
Kerri Kennedy scored at the 55:51 mark to lead the top-seeded and undefeated Diablos (26-0-2) to their third consecutive 4-A title.
Kennedy, who scored from five yards out, took a short pass from Stacey Hopper for the winning goal with 25 minutes remaining in the game.
The victory extended Mission Viejo’s unbeaten streak to 69 games, a Southern Section record.
Mission Viejo outshot West Torrance, 24-5.
Carolyn Hueth, an All-Southern Section first team selection last season, provided nine saves for second-seeded West Torrance, which finished 15-5-6.
Sophomore goalkeeper Tamar deFries made four saves for the Diablos.
