Local News in Brief : Commercial Construction Ban

The Palos Verdes Estates City Council Tuesdaydeclared a 45-day moratorium on commercial construction in the city’s two commercial zones, Malaga Cove and Lunada Bay, until the city code can be strengthened to address land-use and parking problems. The moratorium is effective immediately and can be extended twice.
The city staff estimates that it will take six months to a year to prepare and adopt a specific plan for developing the commercial areas.
