Local News in Brief : Car Runs Into Tree; Woman Driver Killed

Acar slammed into a tree in Mission Hills early Sunday, killing the 22-year-old woman driver, police said.
The woman was heading east on San Fernando Mission Boulevard shortly after 2 a.m. when she rounded a curve near Noble Avenue and hit a tree, said Officer Dennis Smith of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division. The victim’s name was withheld until relatives could be notified.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, Smith said.
