CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — In a major upset in the NCAA basketball tournament, the University of Richmond today defeated Bobby Knight’s Indiana Hoosiers, 72-69, in the East Regionals.
In an NCAA West Regional game played today at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, second-ranked Arizona ran away from Cornell 90-50. The Wildcats, 32-2, will play the winner of the Seton Hall-Texas-El Paso game in Sunday’s second round.
