Television’s college basketball boom continues for viewers caught up in the NCAA Tournament this weekend.
Three second-round games can be seen today on CBS beginning at 11 a.m., with another trio coming along Sunday at the same time (2)(8).
Viewers who prefer the pros can catch the Lakers against the Phoenix Suns tonight at 6:30, while the Golden State Warriors oppose the Lakers on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be carried on Channels 9, 51 and 63.
In boxing, heavyweight champion Mike Tyson will defend his crown against Tony Tubbs in Tokyo. The title bout will be shown live Sunday at 7 p.m. on Home Box Office (cable).
At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, NBC (Channels 4, 36 and 39) will televise the spring-training game between the Dodgers and New York Mets from Florida. It’s the first exhibition game to be shown on network TV.
