Northwest Airlines and the Teamsters union announced a tentative contract agreement for the airline’s 6,500 flight attendants. The accord averted a possible March 29 strike. The pact must still be approved by the union’s negotiating committee and by rank-and-file members. Details of the agreement will not be released until the flight attendants ratify the contract.
