Sidney (Fiddlin’ Sid) Harkreader, 90, one of the first featured fiddlers on the “Grand Ole Opry.” Harkreader bought his first fiddle from a catalogue for $3.95 when he was about 10 with money earned from selling rabbit skins. He played on the Opry, a live country music show, off and on from the 1920s until the ‘50s and continued to perform well into his 80s. In Nashville on Saturday.
