The mouse, the goose and the queen have quietly joined forces.
Disneyland last weekend began offering its first promotion that offers its patrons a chance to visit the Spruce Goose and the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
The Walt Disney Co., you will recall, gained an interest in the Long Beach attractions when it bought Wrather Corp. in January. Since then, industry insiders have speculated that it was only a matter of time before Disney started cross-promoting its Anaheim theme park and the Spruce Goose and Queen Mary.
That, in fact, is what happened last weekend when Disneyland began offering a three-day package for its Blast to the Past promotion through May 22.
Disneyland’s adult patrons pay a total of $41.50, or $20 more than a one-day admission. That entitles them to go to the park for two days, then visit either Disneyland or the Spruce Goose and Queen Mary on day three. (There is a $5 discount for kids, who can buy the package for $36.50.)
The ticket promotion is a $10 savings from Disneyland’s usual three-day package, which sells for $51.50.
“We’re trying to see if we can’t get tourists to spend an extra day here,” said Bob Roth, Disneyland’s spokesman.
The promotional tickets are good through May. 31.
