Gephardt to Quit if He Loses Mich., Aide Says

DETROIT — Richard A. Gephardt will end his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination and file for reelection to his Missouri House seat if he doesn’t win the Michigan caucuses on Saturday, a campaign aide said today.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the aide said Gephardt would probably announce the end of his campaign on Monday and file for reelection to his House seat by the Tuesday afternoon deadline.
