Sunny Hills High School’s Brian McCloskey said he will sign a national letter of intent today to play basketball at UC Irvine.
McCloskey, a 6-foot 7-inch, 185-pound forward, averaged 18.4 points and 12.3 rebounds as a senior and led Sunny Hills to a 22-4 record and the Freeway League championship. He was named the league’s player of the year.
McCloskey, who also was being recruited by Utah State, said he chose Irvine because of its run-oriented offense.
“I like the way they play,” he said.
