Local News in Brief : South County : SDG & E to Honor Its 1-Millionth Customer

A Laguna Niguel couple, Gregory and Jane McCall, will receive gifts today as San Diego Gas & Electric Co. celebrates the signing of its 1-millionth customer, according to company spokesman Tom Larimore.
Larimore said one family from each of the company’s seven districts will be similarly recognized “because it’s impossible to tell exactly which customer was the 1-millionth.” SDG & E has six districts in San Diego County and one serving portions of south Orange County.
At 11 a.m. today, the McCalls will receive a lamp made from an electric meter box, $100 to give to their favorite charity and other small gifts, Larimore said.
