Local News in Brief : Jacobson Chosen as Mayor
- Share via
El Segundo City Councilman Carl Jacobson has been elected mayor by his fellow council members.
By a 5 to 0 vote, the council selected Jacobson, who earlier this month was reelected to the council, to serve in the largely ceremonial post. A new mayor is chosen every two years by council members.
The mayor receives the same pay--$320 a month--as the other council members, and has no veto power.
