Certron Corp., Anaheim, reported net earnings of $46,000 for the second quarter ended April 30, a 19% drop from the $57,000 posted for the comparable quarter last year. Sales dipped 6%, to $6.3 million from $6.7 million a year ago. The decline resulted primarily from reduced sales to Xerox, the company’s major contract manufacturing customer. For the six-month period, the company earned $176,000, 3% less than the $182,000 reported for last year’s first half. Sales dropped 4%, to $13.2 million from $13.7 million. Certron manufactures and distributes audio recording tapes and floppy disks, distributes videocassettes to the consumer market and manufactures and assembles products for other companies.
